Acer, the third largest PC vendor in India achieved a significant milestone for its projector division with seven new Acer projectors being empanelled by Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D) to be included under the DGS&D rate contract. The DGS&D is the central purchase and quality assurance organization of the Govt. of India, Department of Supply Ministry of Commerce. One of the key roles played by DGS&D is to provide procurement services to Central & State Govt. by placing Rate Contracts for common user items & contracts against their ad-hoc demands. Under the DGS&D rate contract, DGS&D has formulated broad guidelines and procedures to bring specialized hi-tech procedure on "most favored price agreements" with reputed manufacturers.

Acer projector models including the K11, P1200i, P1200, P1203, P1206, P5390W and P7203 qualified under the DGS&D rate contract based on their features and technical specifications. The seven Acer projectors passed through several evaluations and quality tests to be featured in the directory of DGS&D product group. Acer’s best quality projectors that are part of the DGS&D rate contract will be made available at extremely affordable price points to Govt. customers and quasi Government customers.

“This empanelment by the DGS&D is a significant endorsement of the superiority of Acer Projectors. Being featured under the rate contracts is well-timed, opportune and will encourage government departments to purchase the best quality projectors from Acer at affordable price points,” said Mr. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India.
